Description
Senior Commercial Litigation Attorney
Are you a serious commercial litigator who loves interesting cases, strong strategy and persuasive writing, and would appreciate a flexible work and compensation structure?
Gegan Law is looking for a senior Associate or Of-Counsel Attorney for our Tampa-based office. This position is primarily for business litigation, in Federal and State Courts, but the ideal candidate will also have experience with estate planning, probate and probate or Trust litigation, Trust administration and Medicaid planning techniques. You will be responsible for independently managing cases with direct client contact.
You need first-chair litigation experience, in Federal and State court. You are already very familiar with the rules of evidence and rules of procedure. Your work product does not require revisions.
What Is In It For You
Flexible work schedule if needed. This position can be full-time or part-time. We have families of our own and can work around your family responsibilities. This position can be virtual/work from home, or in the office or a hybrid. Our physical office is in Tampa, Florida. We are a small law firm, so you face zero bureaucracy and your work will matter. You need something, you will get it. Interested in starting your own firm, but not quite ready to hang a shingle? We support entrepreneurship, so let us know and we can help you on your way.
This is not a “library” role. We are looking for someone who can think, write, argue, strategize and execute. You will be in Court. We are not impressed by legalese (and neither are judges). Write to persuade and convince.
What You Can Expect To Handle
Franchise litigation
Enforcement of restrictive covenants
Protection of trade secrets and confidential information
Seeking injunctive relief
Federal and State Court litigation
Protecting small to mid-size businesses. You will be speaking to the owners directly
In addition to your skills, you need to have the right attitude. You need to be positive-minded. This area of the law can be stressful, and we don’t need to create our own drama! You must be comfortable working in a team… we win together and lose together. There are no “lone wolves” tolerated here. You need to be able to not only tolerate change and growth, but you should embrace it.
Total compensation package for full-time work is from $125,000 to $160,000 per year. We pay bonuses quarterly and year-end. We offer participation in our Firm retirement plan with employer matching contributions, paid time off & reimbursement of firm expenses. While this position does not require a portable book of business, we encourage business development and can discuss additional bonus structures for both exceeding expectations and bringing in business, including a book of ongoing business. We also pay for continuing legal education, bar dues, and approved voluntary bar memberships.
