Led by founder Robert Von Dohlen, a divorce and family law attorney with over 13 years of experience, the firm handles cases involving divorce, child custody and conservatorship, property division, spousal maintenance, and high-asset or business-owner divorce.
Role Description The Senior Texas Family Law Attorney will manage a caseload of family law matters, including divorce, child custody, modifications, enforcements, contempt, support disputes, and related issues. Developing case strategies, drafting pleadings and motions, conducting discovery, and representing clients in hearings, mediations, and trials. The attorney will analyze complex legal issues, provide clear legal advice, and maintain regular communication to keep clients informed and supported.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in Law, with current licensure to practice in Texas and excellent knowledge of Texas Family Law. Active member in good standing of the state bar.
- JD degree from an ABA approved law school
- Demonstrated experience handling a broad range of Family Law matters and related Legal Issues, including complex property and custody cases.
- Proficiency in drafting and arguing Motions, including temporary orders, enforcement, and modification pleadings.
- Experience conducting Depositions and managing discovery in cases involving businesses, high-net-worth estates, or contested issues.
- Minimum of 5–7 years of dedicated Texas family law practice, preferably in senior or lead counsel roles.
- Strong courtroom advocacy skills, including trial preparation, examination of witnesses, and persuasive negotiation in mediation or settlement conferences.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex issues to clients in clear, practical terms.
- High level of professionalism, integrity, and client-centered service, with a focus on minimizing conflict and advancing constructive outcomes.
- Emotional intelligence, calm demeanor when handling high conflict or emotionally charged situations
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple cases, and collaborate effectively with attorneys, paralegals, and support staff.
- Experience with law practice management and document management
